This incident happened recently in North Texas
On Sunday, a woman went boating taking with her somecans of coke which she put into the refrigerator ofthe boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital andplaced in the Intensive Care Unit. She died onWednesday. The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. Thiswas traced to the can of coke she drank from, notusing a glass. Tests showed that the can was infectedby dried rat urine and hence the diseaseLeptospirosis. Rat urine contains toxic and deathlysubstances. It is highly recommended to thoroughlywash the upper part of soda cans before drinking outof them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses andtransported straight to the shops without beingcleaned.A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans aremore contaminated than public toilets (i.e.).. fullof germs and bacteria. So wash them with water beforeputting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatalaccident.
